While I'm sure our conversation might eventually come to a head about the offer you gave everyone, I'm a bit curious about this—

Did you intentionally mean to give this to me? Or to anyone?

[ so, the second one. notably, he says this quite a bit more seriously than how he normally talks. one might almost think he's a proper witch, even if momentarily. ]

So, it was meant to be given out to someone even if it wasn't me.

[ don't think that change in tone escapes sabo's attention, if anything, it makes him even more curious. he hasn't missed the whole talk about his goddess/boss/whatever either. ]

Why would you want to do something like that? [ ... ] Even if we had not remembered, the card would have put doubts in the minds some.

Well, I've said it before, haven't I? Magic has a price, a debt to pay for every spell.

...major spells, minor spells are in most cases, free.

Right, an even exchange for whatever you want. It makes sense.

However, was the act of giving up the card part of the fee for whatever spell you decided to cast? I suspect that the scene that the card showed were memories ones that we lost.

This must have been some spell you wanted to cast if you were willing to pay the price using your own memories.

Is every price that you pay for these spells worth it to you? Have you regretted casting any of them?

[ paying with your memories is a huge thing especially if you don't have a say in which ones get wiped out. ]

You're asking a lot for us to kill another person for the sake of this spell of your's. [ sabo's pretty sure that ish could probably tell what he's going with this and knows that he probably won't get an answer from him, but nothing asked then nothing gained.

I was before, but I'm not now, am I? A life for a wish is a pretty good deal. People kill nations in pursuit of what drives them.

I know you're not asking me to tell you what the spell is just so that you can try to ruin it, are you? I will tell you that I have and would do anything to complete it. That I know what I'm doing and accept all the consequences.

How am I supposed to ruin something that I don't understand? Magic doesn't exist in my world; it's just in stories. However, I know what it means to have resolve and to do anything for it.

[ sabo will have a bit of a laugh here before he sobers up and sits up a bit straighter. just as ish had been serious, here is sabo doing the same. ]

People will raze entire countries to get what they desire; some of it justified but most end up being for selfish reasons. For me, the only thing I want is for everyone to be given the chance to live freely and free from unnecessary suffering.

No exceptions. I mean if you stuck with that, I'd just need to give a wish on your behalf. But deferring to someone else I could do.

I'd be curious as to what kind of wish you'd grant on behalf.

Is it possible to use my wish to interfere with another person's wish? Obviously not your's since you wouldn't allow that, but someone else here.

Hmmm....no. That'd just be raining on someone else's parade in a way I can't endorse.

So, there is some level of integrity that isn't restricted to strict requirements.

Yeah.

I haven't met them face-to-face myself, but there is a great scientist in my world who has created multiple robots who embody aspects of him.
