It's a piece of paper made using someone's fingernail clipping [ gross he knows. ] that's waterproof and fireproof, however the biggest appeal is that it's tied to the lifeforce of whoever the paper was made from.
Torn pieces will always point and slightly move towards one another no matter where they are; it's how I can keep tabs on some people even if they're not with me.
