Curiosity, mainly. Magic in my world... I thought we had none to speak of, but then my crew encountered a creature that upended that particular worldview. I've yet to make sense of it. These sorts of supernatural things are foreign to me, and if I'm to return, I think it best to spend some time expanding my mind. Understand the possibilities that may open to me.

It's too bad you don't know who actually killed Shiv, because they might even forgive you for taking them out.

Strategy is key, isn't it? There's little control in choosing a target at random.

[ It's not as if he takes any joy in killing. There's a rush, yes, but it's an act of utility more than anything.

Hey now, I can't say too much about that. But what I meant was that the group wouldn't have minded getting their hands on who killed Shiv.

If the killer was feeling guilty, don't you think they would have confessed before they let Siffrin bite it?

Not necessarily. Guilt isn't an indicator of self-sacrifice. Better to live with your guilt than not live at all, I'd say.

[ True enough that Shiv's true killer might be the best target... but hell if Hickey has any clue who that might be. And anyway: ]

Even if the group was thankful for me catching the right culprit, I doubt they'd sacrifice another just to spare me.

How long do you expect this game to last? I half suspect your aim is to kill off everyone who isn't willing to murder for you.

There are very few people who won't commit murder period. It's all about incentive. But never fear, that's not my aim!
