[ Blade can understand that - whatever he thinks of Ish, who he is just starting to become curious about - and he can imagine that if someone holds a precious element dear to them they would not want to let it go. Even if he hadn't anticipated Ish being so sentimental.

But, it's interesting. Someone being simply and only directionless in their chaotic demeanor and act interests him little. ]

Doubt you'd be happy to let the other magic go too.

...Guess learning magic works for you differently. But, I wonder if it's ever bothered you that it's been like that.

[ He does doubt it, since he seems to hold dear those powers since they're associated with this Norna. But, he thinks it isn't unreasonable for someone to want more...? ]

[ Blade wonders why that is. Is it something to do with who he was born to? Xianzhou's discrimination tended more towards age-specific, but that isn't the case of other worlds. ]

Power can just as easily overcome with a clever enough approach.

[ Though he'd argue with his mind, he knows little of such approaches. ]

Did you ever have the opportunity to grant those who treated you less with reprisal? Or...did that cease to matter?

[ Blade, local grudgewanker, has to wonder. He says his happiness doesn't matter; but it doesn't mean he never tried anything against those who made him unhappy. ]

I understand.

Other goals can outweigh personal desires.

[ Blade surprisingly truly does as he happens to say - that is where his involvement in Elio's script supersedes his previous thoughts of revenge.

Unhinged revenge, at that. But he had acknowledged it when he spoke to Dan Heng on the Xianzhou before. It's kind of ironic, considering. ]

And sounds like you did enough damage for a lifetime. Especially for a family that may need to have more of them to properly exert influence. Whether they learned to regret what they did or not, in the end.

[ Emphasis on no guarantee on that. Because people, but he doesn't think it impossible. ]

[ A flicker of amusement. He knew that Ish was a grudgewanker.

He could smell the blood in the water. This reminds him vaguely of hierarchy messes on the Xianzhou; even without clear memories he knows it's a mess. Some like that exist only to sink into degradation. He can only chuckle darkly at this, all of this... ]

...Unfortunate for them.

[ Blade picks up the umbrella into his hands once more. ]

Sometimes, in the end, living is punishment enough, after enough tortures. After humiliation upon humiliation. [ ... ] We don't see eye to eye on much. But this, maybe I understand just fine.

...I'll be going for now. You've been helpful.

[ Blade isn't certain to expect it again, but now he has more insight. Which is more than what he expected to have walking into this - the irony, however? Makes him begin to laugh harder as he walks off. A little unhinged, a little crazed...maybe in disbelief. Who can say where this will lead (we know where it will)? ]
