Should he open it, he will find a little earring - simply made (honestly, one could even say crudely made, given Hwy's very new to this) from whatever bits and bobs he could pull out of the workshop and rig into something that works as an earring.
The little (presumably false) gemstone shines, the ribbon fabrics are quite soft, and the little snake (probably shaped out of bendy, wire-like metals), by virtue of being black, hides much of its imperfection. )
